Description

The Chantelle Abbey served the Castle of the Bourbon Dukes which was razed by Richelieu in 1635. For more than 50 years, the Benedictine Sisters have been creating cosmetic producs, sold in the store. Eglises Arc en ciel.
Free visit with document and information panel, of the Romano-Auvergnate church (MH) of the former canons' priory. Guided tour as part of the visits organized by the Tourist Office. The Chantelle Abbey served the Castle of the Bourbon Dukes which was razed by Richelieu in 1635. In 1853, the church and the religious buildings were taken over by a community of Benedictine sisters who live on the site, splitting their time between prayer and work. For more than 60 years, they have been creating a range of cosmetic products, sold in the store. The abbey is on the GR 300 (Santiago de Compostela Road), pilgrims and hikers can benefit from a monastic welcome.
